Cory Allen dots down for Ospreys against Worcester Warriors

Ospreys have won all four home pool stage matches in the Challenge Cup and will look to maintain that record against 2017 winners Stade Francais Paris at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

  • This will be the second meeting between the two sides. Stade defeated Ospreys in the 2017 quarter-finals en route to lifting the trophy.
  • Ospreys have conceded just 10 points in four home Challenge Cup matches, scoring 190 in the same time.
  • Stade have lost both of their games this season, and have never opened a Challenge Cup campaign with three consecutive defeats.
  • Ospreys have missed just 21 tackles this season, fewer than any other side, and are one of just two clubs with a tackle success rate of over 90%. Worcester Warriors are the other.
  • Stade are the only side with a 100% ruck success rate after two rounds.

Ospreys hit Stade Francais Paris for six

Ospreys centre Cory Allen

Ospreys stormed to the top of Pool 2 in the European Rugby Challenge Cup courtesy of this six-try bonus point victory over Stade Francais Paris.

Centre Cory Allen was the man to send them on their way with a brace of tries in the opening half and fly-half Sam Davies was on target with the conversions and three penalties.

Stade Francais had to be content with a single try from winger Jimmy Yobo to add to two penalties and a conversion from South African fly-half Morne Steyn as they trailed 23-13 at the break.

All hopes for the visitors seemed to disappear when centre Mailetoa Hingano was sin-binned for killing the ball and Ospreys quickly took advantage when replacement prop Rhodri Jones showed an impressive burst of pace to score a breakaway try.

The visitors were reduced to 14-men for a second time when Stephane Clement was yellow carded and Ospreys finished off strongly with additional scores from winger Luke Morgan, an interception score from replacement centre Owen Watkin and a penalty try. Further conversion followed from Sam Davies and James Hook.

Stade Francais, whose only second half points came from a try by winger Julien Arias converted by Steyn, will look to make a better impression when they host Ospreys on Friday night.
