However, two tries in five minutes before half-time left Exeter well placed as Sam Skinner and Olly Woodburn went over and Slade converted the latter.

A five-point deficit became a 23-point lead after 68 minutes as Sean Maitland, Nick Tompkins and Ben Earl added further tries, with Farrell kicking three penalties and two conversions.

Exeter managed a third score through Stuart Townsend late on, with Stuart Hogg converting, but Saracens were well worth their win.

Saracens continued their push for a EPCR Challenge Cup and Gallagher Premiership double with a 38-22 defeat of Exeter Chiefs.
