Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell has said his team will not be taking this weekend’s Heineken Champions Cup semi-final against Munster Rugby in Coventry for granted. The 27-year-old – who sits third on the all-time European Cup points scorers list – has already won Europe’s elite club competition on two occasions and has racked up 57 points this season with Saracens. The English side have won all seven of their Heineken Champions Cup matches this season, including a 56-27 victory over Glasgow Warriors in the last eight. “For me, it’s the best of the best,” said the England international. “To be involved in massive games, like the one that we’re going to be involved in this weekend, I don’t think it’s something you can take for granted. “It’s a privilege to be involved in that and hopefully we play like that at the weekend. “It’s always been a massive competition growing up, it’s always been something that you want to be a part of. https://twitter.com/ChampionsCup/status/1119235450324045825 “We probably didn’t get as close as we’d have liked to earlier on, when I first started playing. To be able to get there and play in the big games at the end of the competition is brilliant.” Farrell also highlighted Munster’s outstanding record in the competition, with the Irish province chasing a spot in the European Cup final for the fifth time this weekend. “Munster are obviously a fantastic team and have got massive history in this competition,” Farrell added. “They seem to relish playing in it and we’ve got to make sure that’s not a shock to us. “We’ve got to be ready for that, but also be ready to play well and be in control ourselves.”
