The Scottish international was annoyed with the TOP 14 team’s performance in their 25-10 success at Ospreys, Pool A’s bottom side.

“Far from our best performance,” he said afterwards. “A lot of errors, indiscipline, so for us, it was very frustrating. We're through to the next round, but no one's really happy after that performance.

“But at the same time credit to Ospreys, they were outstanding. They won a lot of collisions up front in the first 60 minutes and then I think at the end that we just showed the power we had coming off the bench.

“We maybe weren’t at our best, but they didn’t allow us to play at our best. The bench came on and did a great job, which allowed us to score a couple of tries.

“I think we will be looking at ourselves, though. We need to look at that game and hope that doesn’t happen again. If Ospreys had taken a couple of their chances in the first half, it could have been a different game.”

Although Racing 92 qualified for the last 16 of the Heineken Champions Cup at the weekend, fly-half Finn Russell believes the French club will have to step up their game if they are to win the trophy for the first time.
