With 2018 finalists Racing 92 and four-time winners Toulouse set for a Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final rehearsal on Sunday in the TOP 14, we take a look at four classic European matches the two sides have featured in. 2005: Stade Français Paris 12 Toulouse 18 (AET) Toulouse became the first three-time winners of the European Cup after a dramatic final at Murrayfield against fellow French side Stade Français Paris. The Parisians led with two minutes remaining, before Frédéric Michalak slotted over a simple penalty to force extra time in a try-less final. Michalak nudged Toulouse ahead with another successful kick, before sealing victory with a stunning, long-range drop-goal. 2010: Biarritz Olympique 19 Toulouse 21 In another all-French European Cup final, Toulouse edged out Biarritz Olympique at Stade de France in Paris to become the first four-time winners of the competition. The sole try in the match came from Biarritz wing Karmichael Hunt, but it was the goal-kicking of Florian Fritz and David Skrela that proved the deciding factor in what was a tense final. Toulouse still hold the record for the most European Cup titles alongside Leinster Rugby, who clinched their fourth crown by beating Racing 92 in last season’s decider. https://twitter.com/ChampionsCup/status/1095367453583003649 2016: Leicester Tigers 16 Racing 92 19 A first-half try from scrum-half Maxime Machenaud and 11 points from the boot of fly-half Dan Carter propelled Racing 92 into their first Champions Cup final after a narrow success at Nottingham’s City Ground. The French side led throughout and despite Telusa Veainu’s late score for Leicester Tigers, Racing held on for a famous victory. Racing had to settle for being runners-up, though, as Saracens battled to a 21-19 victory at Grand Stade de Lyon. 2018: Racing 92 27 Munster Rugby 22 Racing 92 wing Teddy Thomas was the star of the show in Bordeaux as he scored two first-half tries and set up another to put the French club into their second European Cup final. They were rampant in the first half, when they established a 21-point lead, and that advantage proved decisive in the end, with late Munster scores from Simon Zebo, Rhys Marshall and Andrew Conway not enough to claw back the deficit. However, Racing again fell short in the final, losing 15-12 to Leinster Rugby in Bilbao.
