Neild, who made his debut for the United Rugby Championship club last Saturday, believes they have an ideal opportunity to make it three wins in a row when they host USAP on Friday night.

“It is important for the team to build on where we left off against Bath,” he said. “That is our intent and where everything we did was purposeful.

“If we bring the same determination and the right attitude, we will be successful against Perpignan on Friday night.

“People are dying to improve, so personally, I believe results will be better than they have the first few games.

“It’s already started with the two away wins and then we have Perpignan and the double derby. It’s exciting times.”

Neild even believes the cold weather might be a bonus for the Warriors against opponents who hail from the Mediterranean coast.

“In terms of preparations, we are training at an indoor facility at Ravenscraig, which is cold, even though it is indoors,” he said.

“It may affect Perpignan’s preparations too. I think they may be in for a shock when they turn up here on Friday. It’s not like the sunny south of France.”
