But they will have to do without Wales back Jonah Holmes, who has been ruled out until the New Year with a partial tear to his medial collateral ligament, suffered in last weekend’s Premiership loss at Northampton Saints.

Holmes’ injury increases the number of absent outside backs this weekend to four, with Telusa Veainu, Jordan Olowofela and Sam Aspland-Robinson also sidelined.

“It adds some pressure to us at a tough time, specifically in the outside back area," Murphy told the club website. “It’s a testing time for us and this is another test.”

However, the Irishman has no worries about their replacements nor about his side’s ability to make it three wins from three in their debut Challenge Cup season.

“I’m confident any youngster we call on to step up will do so and do so well,” he added. “We’ll pick a team to go out and do the job, which is winning the game at home.

“As a group, we’re confident in what we know is our identity. This group is in a much, much stronger place than last season and it is a tight squad, who I’m confident will get the job done this weekend.”
