After Munster Rugby eased to a 49-13 victory over Ospreys at Thomond Park in the PRO14 last weekend, we take a look back at some of the Irish province’s greatest wins at the Limerick stadium. 2009: Munster Rugby 43 Ospreys 9 Munster were European Cup holders at the time and continued their dominance with a convincing quarter-final victory over Ospreys in Limerick. Full-back Paul Warwick put the Irish province in the driving seat with a try and two drop-goals, before centre Keith Earls added two late tries to put the gloss on a terrific home performance. European Rugby’s record points-scorer, Ronan O’Gara, also racked up 17 points as Munster eased into the last four. 2014: Munster Rugby 47 Toulouse 23 The Irish province scored six tries as they powered to a comprehensive win over Toulouse at Thomond Park to qualify for the European Cup semi-finals for the second season in succession. The match was delicately poised at the interval, after Toulouse took full advantage of some Munster indiscipline, with fly-half Luke McAlister kicking two penalties on the stroke of half-time. However, Munster stormed back in the second half with five tries, including one from wing Simon Zebo, who has scored 23 tries in 46 European Cup matches. https://twitter.com/Munsterrugby/status/1042731670015758337 2017: Munster Rugby 41 Toulouse 16 Munster reached their first Champions Cup semi-final for three seasons as they again demolished Toulouse at Thomond Park. Once more the tie was close at the interval, with the Irish province leading 13-9, before wing Darren Sweetnam, back-row forward CJ Stander and wing Andrew Conway all dived over for second-half tries to clinch their spot in the final four. 2018: Munster Rugby 20 RC Toulon 19 Munster's most recent home European knockout tie was in March, when the Irish province denied RC Toulon a place in the Champions Cup semi-finals in the dying minutes. The match twisted and turned, with full-back Chris Ashton putting Toulon in front going into the final stages, before wing Andrew Conway collected an attempted kick into touch from replacement fly-half François Trinh-Duc. He then danced past four Toulon defenders and crossed under the posts for one of the great European Cup tries at Thomond Park. Fly-half Ian Keatley easily kicked the pivotal conversion to secure Munster’s place in the final four.
