The former USA Eagle – who is now a pundit on NBC Sports’ Heineken Champions Cup coverage – highlighted each player’s individual efforts to help Bath claim the biggest prize in European club rugby.

“It’s so good to look back on a game like that of such magnitude and remember moments that each player had in the game,” said the 49-year-old, speaking on the Champions Rugby Show.

“Holding out on the line for the front row, the amount of tackles and rucks hit from our second row and just the brilliant graft from Nathan [Thomas] and Richard Webster in the back row with me.

“It was a who’s who in our backline and they each had moments. A tap tackle from Ieuan Evans, a penalty from Ade [Adebayo Adebayo]. Obviously all the points from JC who was selected over Matt Perry.”

He reserved special praise for full-back Jon Callard, who scored all 19 points for the English side in the match shown on last weekend's Heineken Champions Cup Rewind, including a crucial second half try.

“Cally [Jon Callard] is one of my favourite players that I have ever played with and I think most players that have played with him can say that,” he added.

“He could just do so much and Phil de Glanville, who was the former captain, just allowed Andy [Nicol] to use his game but also being in the backline to marshal them.

“And then you have one of the best ever in Jerry [Jeremy Guscott]. It was just wonderful to have that level of talent and that just added to the confidence."
