The 21-year-old, who played in all of the Tigers’ ties, is one of three changes to the England starting XV following their victory in the second Test last weekend, after Saracens’ Maro Itoje suffered concussion in that game.

Chessum joins clubmates Freddie Steward, Guy Porter and Ellis Genge in the starting XV, while there are recalls for Northampton Saints flanker Lewis Ludlam and Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care.

Care teams up with clubmate Marcus Smith in the only change to the backs, so Saracens’ Owen Farrell continues at inside centre, Porter at outside centre, Steward at full-back, Northampton’s Tommy Freeman on the left wing and Exeter Chiefs’ Jack Nowell on the right wing.

In the pack, Genge, Saracens hooker Jamie George and Bath Rugby prop Will Stuart again form the front row, Chessum’s second-row partner is Sale Shark Jonny Hill and the back row is completed by Northampton flanker Courtney Lawes and Saracens No.8 Billy Vunipola.

Meanwhile, Heineken Champions Cup runners-up Leinster Rugby have had their Ireland contingent reduced by one for the series decider against New Zealand in Wellington on Saturday, with centre Garry Ringrose injured.

Nevertheless, they still boast 11 members of Andy Farrell’s starting XV, including fly-half Johnny Sexton, who again leads the team and so wins his 108th cap, equalling Paul O’Connell’s tally for Ireland.

Sexton will be partnered by clubmate Jamison Gibson-Park at half-back, while Leinster also have full-back Hugo Keenan, centre Robbie Henshaw and left wing James Lowe in the backs.

The pack is the same as the first two Tests, so Leinster prop Andrew Porter, hooker Dan Sheehan and prop Tadhg Furlong are the front row, Munster Rugby’s Tadhg Beirne and Leinster’s James Ryan are the locks, and the back row is Munster flanker Peter O’Mahony, Leinster flanker Josh van der Flier and Leinster No.8 Caelan Doris.

Lock Ollie Chessum, an important member of the Leicester Tigers squad who reached the Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals last season, will make his first start for England in their series decider against Australia in Sydney on Saturday.
