Leicester produced a stunning second half display on Friday evening to overcome a spirited Ulster Rugby side in a 33-24 victory.

The visiting Irish province started the game in scintillating fashion with second-row Iain Henderson and fly-half Billy Burns crossing the whitewash within six minutes of each other to put Ulster up 17-6 in the opening 21 minutes of the contest.

They maintained that lead until the half, but a rampant Leicester side reversed the hosts fortunes early in the second period with tries from No.8 Jasper Wiese and loosehead prop Ellis Genge - George Ford adding two conversions, a penalty and a drop goal to give Leicester a 26-17 lead.

Ulster responded with an outstanding solo effort from flanker Nick Timoney – converted by Michael Lowry – to reduce the deficit to 2, but a late try from Tigers wing Guy Porter confirmed victory for the English side.

They will take on French side Montpellier in the showpiece final at Twickenham after they defeated Bath Rugby in their own backyard 19-10.

In a tense affair where scoring was at a premium, Bath took an early lead when hooker Tom Dunn touched down for the hosts in the fourth minute – Ben Spencer adding the conversion with the boot.

Montpellier responded with a penalty from the boot of Benoit Paillaugue on 19 minutes before flanker Yacouba Camara notched the visitors only try of the afternoon three minutes later to put Montpellier up 10-7.

Spencer levelled the game at 10-10 with 26 minutes on the clock – but little did the English side know that would be their last scoring effort of the entire semi-final as Montpellier took control.

Paillaugue added two further first half penalties to lead 16-10 at the interval. The second half produced a solo penalty from the boot of Handre Pollard in the final minute of the contest as the French side search for a second European Rugby Challenge Cup title.

The two sides will lock horns on Friday 21 May at Twickenham in what is set up to be a mouthwatering contest.
