The French international, who was playing his final game for the club ahead of a move to five-time European champions Stade Toulousain this summer, went over for a try in addition to kicking five penalties and three conversions.

Léo Coly added the extras and went on to kick three penalties over the remainder of the first half, but Jaminet ensured the sides went into the break level as he crossed and converted to add to his trio of three-pointers.

USAP, who failed to progress from Pool B in this season’s Challenge Cup, took control in the second half as Jaminet landed two quickfire penalties before Jerónimo de la Fuente’s score further strengthened their position.

Tries from Lucas Dubois and Tristan Tedder in the final quarter of an hour wrapped up USAP’s victory and ensured their French top-flight status was preserved, earning them another season on the European stage.

Full-back Melvyn Jaminet tallied 26 points as he helped his side retain their place in the TOP 14 – and EPCR Challenge Cup – with a 41-16 win over Stade Montois in a relegation play-off at Stade Guy Boniface on Sunday.
