The tight-head has been the one of the stand out players in his position over the past two seasons and continues to improve each year. The British & Irish Lion featured in every match for Leinster in their title-winning campaign, including a wonderful Heineken Man of the Match performance against Exeter Chiefs in the pool stage. The Frenchman played in every game of Racing 92’s Champions Cup campaign last season, as they reached the showpiece final in Bilbao before a 15-12 defeat to Leinster Rugby. The 27-year-old, who has played 47 matches in the European Cup, will want to go one better this time around for the Paris side. Mako Vunipola Not many props in the world have the off-loading skills and line breaking ability that Mako Vunipola does – alongside the basics of being a vigorous scrummager. The 27-year-old is a prized asset in any team that he plays, whether it be Saracens, England or the British and Irish Lions. Entering his eighth season in Europe’s elite club competition, the loose-head will hope to add to his two Champions Cup winners’ medals when the competition commences with Saracens facing Lyon, Cardiff Blues and Glasgow Warriors in Pool 4. https://twitter.com/ChampionsCup/status/1024904609201049600 Tomas Francis The Welshman is a part of a swiss timepiece at Exeter Chiefs, a system that is both efficient and effective at keeping opponents at bay and breaks down the most stubborn of defences, and the tighthead is an integral part of it all coming together. The 26-year-old has built a reputation as a top class scrummager at his time with the Devon outfit and he's his mobility in the loose has improved drastically. In short, the 33-cap Wales international could play an important role if Exeter Chiefs were to get far in the competition. Sébastien Taofifénua At nearly 21-stone, Taofifénua is a throwback to the old school loose-head and will be looking to make an immediate impact at RC Toulon after arriving in the south of France from Bordeaux-Bègles over the summer. The 26-year-old makes his presence felt all around the pitch and once he gets going, is mightily difficult to stop. The Frenchman has appeared 27 times in European rugby, scoring four tries in total and will be a tough task for the tight-heads at Newcastle Falcons, Edinburgh Rugby and Montpellier in Pool 5.
