Leicester Tigers and Stade Français Paris thrilled a 44,000 crowd at Paris’ Parc des Princes in the 2001 final, but Leon Lloyd silenced the home fans by scoring a last-minute try to seal a 34-30 success for the English club and a first Heineken Cup.

Stade Français had led for virtually the whole match, with Diego Dominguez scoring all his side's points, but Leicester fully deserved their win for notching three tries to none, with Lloyd grabbing a brace and Neil Back also crossing, while Tim Stimpson kicked 19 points.

Exeter Chiefs lifted the Heineken Champions Cup for the first time after a breathtaking 2020 final at Bristol’s Ashton Gate, holding off Racing 92 to triumph 31-27 in an all-time European classic featuring four tries for both sides.

Luke Cowan-Dickie, Sam Simmonds, Harry Williams and Henry Slade touched down for the English winners, while Simon Zebo crossed twice for Racing, whose other try-scorers were Juan Imhoff and Camille Chat.

That match also produced the most conversions in a Heineken Champions Cup final, with Exeter fly-half Joe Simmonds landing four, Racing fly-half Finn Russell and substitute Maxime Machenaud one apiece.

It was the 2001 decider that provided the most penalties in a Heineken final, with the deadly Dominguez kicking nine and Stimpson five.

Most drop-goals: 3

Stade Toulousain owed their 2010 title to the drop-kicking skills of David Skrela and Florian Fritz, with Skrela notching two and Fritz one in a 21-19 success over Biarritz Olympique at Paris’ Stade de France.
