Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell has stressed that his side will not be taking anything for granted when they face Leinster Rugby in the Heineken Champions Cup final on Saturday at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park, despite having reached three of the last four finals. The English club tasted victory in Europe’s elite club competition in 2016 and 2017, but were eliminated at the quarter-final stage last season by Leinster in a 30-19 defeat at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium. However, this season they have bounced back with eight consecutive Heineken Champions Cup victories, including a 32-16 semi-final success over fellow two-time winners Munster Rugby, with Farrell racking up 22 points from the kicking tee. We’ve been building nicely throughout the year. “It’s about what you do and how you perform in the next challenge. I’ve no doubt our intent – we'll give everything for the rest of the year.”
