Most points: 27 (Paul Burke, Harlequins)

The London-born, Irish international fly-half was Harlequins’ match-winner as they edged Narbonne 42-33 after extra time in 2001 at Reading’s Madejski Stadium.

He kicked six penalties, converted all Quins’ three tries and dropped a goal, which proved crucial as the French club also scored three tries.

Most tries: 2 (four players)

A hat-trick has proved elusive in the 26 EPCR Challenge Cup finals so far, but four players have managed to cross the line twice.

Colomiers’ Bernard de Giusti, Section Paloise’s Nicolas Bacque, Sale Sharks’ Charlie Hodgson and Montpellier Hérault Rugby’s Jesse Mogg have all notched doubles in Challenge Cup deciders – against Agen in 1998, Castres Olympique in 2000, Section Paloise in 2005 and Harlequins in 2016 respectively.

Most penalties: 7 (Dimitri Yachvili, Biarritz Olympique)

The former France scrum-half's lethal left boot won Biarritz their sole European title, as he kicked all their points in their 21-18 success against TOP 14 rivals RC Toulon in the 2012 final at Twickenham Stoop.

He landed seven penalties in the try-less final to outperform England legend Jonny Wilkinson, who was Toulon’s only scorer.

Most conversions: 6 (Alex King, Wasps)

King ensured Wasps gained full value for their six tries in their all-English final in 2003 at the Madejski Stadium against Bath Rugby.

Bath managed to improve only two of their four tries, so King’s immaculate performance from the tee was vital in Wasps’ 48-30 success.

Most titles: 3 (Ben Foden and Christian Day, Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints)

Remarkably, Foden and Day won three Challenge Cup titles as team-mates with two different clubs to deservedly share the record.

The first came with Sale in 2005, before they both helped Northampton to the 2009 and 2014 titles.
