Not only did the comfortable Pool C victory keep the Scottish region on course for the knockout phase, but Blair was also able to give a run-out to some of his younger players.

“There was some really good stuff,” he commented. “Some of the transition with broken-field stuff was really good.

“Out in the middle of the pitch, the wind was something else, so we struggled a little bit with the line-out, so we had to find different kind of ways to launch attacks."

On squad rotation, Blair was thrilled that wing Freddie Owsley took his chance with two tries and that he was able to give outings to prop Angus Williams, prop Harrison Courtney and back-row forward Ben Muncaster.

“It was important for us to give guys game time,” Blair said. “Freddie has worked really hard on his game, especially it the last three or four weeks, so I wanted to reward that and his tries were absolutely brilliant.

“It was great to see him getting a bit of space, but other guys as well like Angus Williams getting a start, and Harrison Courtney and Ben Muncaster brought energy off the bench.

“So, it was good to get a win with a scoreline like that, but also to give these guys game-time as well."
