The 2018/19 Heineken Champions Cup will largely feature some familiar names in charge, but there is a new face at Cardiff Blues, where Australian John Mulvihill takes over from Danny Wilson as head coach. Where is he from? The 51-year-old was assistant coach with second-tier Japanese club Honda Heat in Japan before signing a three-year deal in March to take over at Cardiff this season. What was his previous coaching experience? Mulvihill has been a professional coach for 21 years and was mentored by former Cardiff RFC coach Alec Evans in the early days of his career. The Australian gained his first experience as a head coach at Irish side Navan RFC during a five-year stint with the Co.
