The 2017/18 Champions Cup season is edging ever closer, with all 20 of our sides gearing up to launch themselves back into European club rugby.

Today, just over a day before the opening game at the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast, we bring you a face well known to followers of European rugby and one to look out for over the next six rounds of the Champions Cup.

1 Cian Healy (Leinster Rugby)

Ireland prop Cian Healy must be one of European Rugby's most decorated forwards, with three European Cup winners' medals and one in the Challenge Cup.

All have been won with Leinster Rugby, where the 30-year-old has been a loyal servant since 2007, the European Cup triumphs coming in 2009, 2011 and 2012, while the Challenge Cup honour followed in 2013.

Indeed, the 2013 British and Irish Lion is a serial winner, because he also has three PRO12 winners' medals to his credit and his 70 Ireland caps include two Six Nations Championships.

Leinster will therefore be looking to the powerful Healy to once again be a pillar of their pack as they take on Exeter Chiefs, Glasgow Warriors and Montpellier in Pool 3, beginning at home to Montpellier on Saturday.
