
As the 2022/23 Heineken Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup get underway on Friday evening, there is a wide range of opportunities for fans to tune into the sport’s greatest club competitions.
There is widespread access across the UK and Ireland, with BT Sport offering comprehensive coverage of the Heineken Champions Cup, starting with London Irish’s home clash with Montpellier Hérault Rugby on Friday at 20:00 (All UK & Irish time).
There are free-to-air options too – on Sunday, ITV show three-time champions Saracens host Edinburgh Rugby at 15:15, RTE cover Munster Rugby’s heavyweight clash with Stade Toulousain, also at 15:15, and S4C will broadcast Ospreys against Leicester Tigers in Swansea at 17:30.
S4C will also cover Cardiff Rugby’s home encounter with CA Brive in the EPCR Challenge Cup at 17:30 on Saturday.
SuperSport has joined EPCR’s suite of TV partners ahead of this season, and will cover all matches involving South African clubs in each of the pool stage and knockout stage rounds, including both EPCR finals.
Coverage of EPCR tournaments has been further expanded this campaign amid a two-year partnership with Viaplay, who will broadcast the EPCR Challenge Cup in the UK until the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

Viaplay’s Round 1 coverage begins with USAP against Bristol Bears at 20:00 on Friday before four Saturday games.
Emirates Lions entertain Dragons RFC at 10:45, Section Paloise host Toyota Cheetahs and Glasgow Warriors travel to Bath Rugby, both at 13:00, and Connacht Rugby welcome Newcastle Falcons at 17:30.
In France, beIN SPORTS will broadcast every Heineken Champions Cup game, with La Rochelle against Northampton and Munster against Toulouse also receiving free-to-air coverage from France TV.
Fans can also watch three EPCR Challenge Cup Round 1 games – USAP against Bristol, Pau against Toyota Cheetahs and Cardiff against Brive – on beIN SPORTS.
France 3 provides additional coverage of the EPCR Challenge Cup clash between Pau and Toyota Cheetahs.
EPCR have also agreed a multi-year agreement with FloRugby, as the exclusive broadcaster of the competitions in the USA until the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
