Semi Radradra – Bristol Bears

Anyone who saw Bristol Bears march to the European Rugby Challenge Cup title last season will understand how important Radradra is to the West Country outfit. The all-action Fijian back scored important tries in the knockout stage as Bristol clinched a maiden European trophy and with Radradra at the heart of their attack, he could rack up fantasy points against 2019 Challenge Cup winners ASM Clermont Auvergne.

John Cooney – Ulster Rugby

Cooney was arguably the best player in last season’s Heineken Champions Cup pool stage, helping the Irish province to the knockout stage with important wins over Harlequins and ASM Clermont Auvergne. They will need to be at their very best again with clashes against Toulouse, who beat them at the last eight stage last season, and Gloucester Rugby on the horizon, but no doubt Cooney will pick up plenty of points from the scrum-half position.

Eben Etzebeth – RC Toulon

The Springboks lock has excelled in the opening weeks of the TOP 14 season and can be expected to make a big impact as RC Toulon return to the Heineken Champions Cup. They were impressive in the Challenge Cup last season, reaching the final, and Etzebeth will surely play a key role as the French side bid to secure a fourth European Cup. A home clash against Sale Sharks in Round 1 looks a decent opportunity for fantasy owners to take advantage of Etzebeth’s dominance.

Sam Simmonds – Exeter Chiefs

What more can be said about the current EPCR European Player of the Year? Simmonds was the standout player in last season’s European campaign for Exeter Chiefs, who swept all before them to secure a maiden Heineken Champions Cup. He has been on fire in the opening weeks of the new Premiership campaign, so he is a no brainer for inclusion in fantasy rugby XVs as Exeter prepare for the defence of their crown, starting at home to Glasgow Warriors on Sunday.
