Cardiff and Scarlets made it two maximum points wins from two games to storm clear at the top of their respective pools.

Josh Adams scored two tries as Cardiff breezed to a 47-10 victory at Newcastle Falcons in Pool A following their 41-0 home whitewash of CA Brive in Round 1.

Fellow Welsh international wing Steff Evans also notched a try double as Scarlets walloped Toyota Cheetahs 45-26 in Parma after their 39-7 home drubbing of Aviron Bayonnais in Pool B.

Eventual winners RC Toulon trailed Cardiff on points difference only, after they followed their 24-21 thriller at Parma by easing to a 29-7 victory over Bath Rugby at Stade Félix Mayol.

Bristol Bears, Connacht Rugby and Glasgow Warriors also boasted 100%-win records in Pool A after Round 2.

Semi Radradra starred as Bristol beat Zebre Parma 35-19 at Ashton Gate, after Connacht held on to triumph 31-24 at CA Brive and Glasgow saw off a stubborn USAP 26-18 at BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Meanwhile, Emirates Lions continued their impressive start to their maiden EPCR campaign by following a 31-31 home draw against Dragons RFC by chalking up a first victory as Quan Horn’s try brace helped them defeat Stade Français Paris 30-12 in Johannesburg.
