Leinster Rugby lock James Ryan has admitted that the defending European Cup champions are expecting “another tough one” this Saturday when the Irish province host Bath Rugby at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Leinster bounced back from their Heineken Champions Cup Round 2 defeat at Toulouse with a battling 17-10 win at the Recreation Ground last weekend, leaving them second in Pool 1. However, Ryan – who won the Champions Cup in just his ninth European rugby appearance last May – has insisted that Leinster have plenty of improvement in them before they take on Bath again. “We’re happy with the result. It's a really tough place to come and the conditions and all that didn’t help,” Ryan told BT Sport after the game. “In fairness to Bath, they were ultra-physical, especially in the first half, and we probably let ourselves down a bit in that area. https://twitter.com/leinsterrugby/status/1072250310708617216 “We got some good drives there, scoring that maul try, and the scrum was pretty good too. “While we’re happy with a couple of areas, there’s definitely a lot of improvement that we need. “It’ll be another tough one in the Aviva next week. The travelling support has been immense and, hopefully, we’ll get a full Aviva too.” Fly-half Johnny Sexton – who was recently crowned IRB World Player of the Year – will be assessed throughout the week after being replaced by Rory O’Loughlin due to a calf issue after 74 minutes. However, Leinster had a positive update on other injury concerns, announcing on their website that No.8 Jack Conan, flanker Dan Leavy and wing Jordan Larmour all came through the Bath match without any complications. Sexton has recently signed a new contract with Leinster, extending his stay with the Irish province until at least 2021.
