But EPCR form proved irrelevant as Alex Waller, Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, Rory Hutchinson and George Furbank also crossed for Saints, with the latter adding 12 points from the tee. Jordan Els and Nick David grabbed consolation scores for Quins.

Meanwhile, in the United Rugby Championship (URC), a last-gasp try and conversion from Ben Healy saw Munster Rugby snatch a 15-14 win at Ulster Rugby

Ulster, who are winless after two games in Heineken Champions Cup Pool B, led for much of the contest thanks to three John Cooney penalties and a Robert Baloucoune try.

But Healy first cut the deficit to six points with a penalty on 74 minutes, before dotting down near the posts at the death and slotting the extras in dramatic fashion.

Elsewhere, Owen Williams tallied 12 points – including a decisive late penalty – as Ospreys claimed a 22-19 win at Cardiff Rugby.

Sam Parry and Dewi Lake crossed either side of a Williams try as Ospreys, who face Montpellier Hérault Rugby again in Round 3 of the Heineken Champions Cup after their stunning win in France two weeks ago, edged out their Welsh rivals.

Pool A leaders Leinster Rugby were the other Heineken Champions Cup side in URC action on Sunday, and they cruised to a 41-12 victory over Connacht Rugby in Dublin courtesy of tries from Jordan Larmour (2), Liam Turner, Brian Deeny, Rob Russell, Ryan Baird and Josh van der Flier.

In the TOP 14, Stade Toulousain overcame Heineken Champions Cup Pool B rivals ASM Clermont Auvergne 32-13 as Juan Cruz Mallia, Sofiane Guitoune, Melvyn Jaminet and Paul Graou all dotted down for the five-time EPCR champions. Tomas Lavanini went over for Clermont’s sole try.

Wing James Ramm crossed for a try double as Heineken Champions Cup strugglers Northampton Saints thrashed Harlequins 46-17 in the Gallagher Premiership at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens on Sunday.
