The 33-year-old is one of three players from the Heineken Champions Cup Pool B side in Andy Farrell’s starting lineup, with the other two – lock Tadhg Beirne and flanker Peter O’Mahony - in the pack.

The Ireland XV is dominated by Leinster Rugby, last season’s Heineken Champions Cup runners-up, who provide 10 representatives.

Fly-half Johnny Sexton captains the side and will make his 109th appearance for Ireland, becoming the country’s fifth most-capped player of all time. He is joined in the backs by three club-mates – full-back Hugo Keenan, plus centres Garry Ringrose and Robbie Henshaw.

In the forwards, Leinster boast a complete Ireland front row of Andrew Porter, Dan Sheehan and Tadhg Furlong, lock James Ryan, flanker Josh van der Flier and No.8 Caelan Doris.

The other member of the XV is Ulster Rugby wing Robert Baloucoune, who missed the summer tour of New Zealand through injury.

Munster Rugby scrum-half Conor Murray, who has amassed 70 appearances in EPCR competitions, is set to play his 100th Test for Ireland on Saturday in their Autumn Nations clash against world champions South Africa at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.
