Edinburgh Rugby hooker Stuart McInally will captain Scotland at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. The 29-year-old, who has made 37 European appearances, has been chosen by Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend after a stellar 2018/19 campaign, when Edinburgh reached the Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals, having topped Pool 5. McInally is one of 10 Edinburgh players to be selected by Townsend, with flanker John Barclay, lock Grant Gilchrist and prop WP Nel among forwards who bring vital World Cup experience to the table. In the backs, wing Darcy Graham and full-back Blair Kinghorn will look to provide some attacking flair, with the 22-year-olds having both scored two tries last season in Edinburgh’s run to the last eight of Europe’s elite club competition.
