Although flanker Fainga’a has played in only two and a bit of Lyon’s four Pool B wins, he still leads the way in Challenge Cup turnovers.

The 30-year-old Australian missed the opening 19-13 home success against Gloucester Rugby but starred in the convincing away wins at Dragons (41-28) and USAP (37-6), before playing 18 minutes as a replacement in the 25-10 home victory against Benetton Rugby.

2 Patrick Sobela (Lyon) 5

Back-row forward Sobela has had even fewer minutes on the pitch than his team-mate, managing only 94, but he has put them to full use.

After being absent for Lyon’s first two games, the 29-year-old was given 32 minutes as a replacement at USAP and then played for 62 against Benetton.

2 Jamie Ritchie (Edinburgh Rugby) 5

In joint second place in the turnover table is another flanker in Scottish international Ritchie, who has helped Edinburgh to the verge of qualification for the last 16 from Pool C, where they currently lie second with a game to play.

Having missed the Scottish side’s opening 21-18 win at Saracens, the 25-year-old played every minute of the dramatic 21-20 defeat at London Irish before featuring for the first 50 minutes of the 66-3 home drubbing of CA Brive.

With just one round to go in the pool stage of the EPCR Challenge Cup, it’s Lyon, already qualified for the last 16, who dominate the turnover statistics.
