The 30-year-old Irish international takes us through his outstanding European rugby memories for both teams, his idols growing up, his most difficult opponent and how he has adapted to the French way of life.

The European game that inspired Zebo to play for Munster was their 2006 Heineken Cup semi-final against arch-rivals Leinster Rugby at Lansdowne Road, which is the subject of this weekend’s Heineken Champions Cup Rewind on Saturday.

“Not being involved in the squad wasn’t a big issue; I think it’s just my favourite memory,” he says. “Seeing Ronan O’Gara hand off Malcolm O’Kelly, drop the ball down and run into the supporters, up in Dublin in a full sea of red, was incredibly special.

“That day, I remember, the itch began to want to play for Munster. And, yeah, it was an incredible memory of mine to see the reaction of the fans and to beat our rivals like that was so, so special. That’s coming from a fan or a supporter.”
