Three-time Heineken Champions Cup winners Toulon will be favourites for the tie, particularly having beaten TOP 14-title chasing Union Bordeaux-Bègles in their last league game.

But Kiss, whose side hammered Castres Olympique 64-27 in the Round of 16, says Irish should not be overawed.

He told BT Sport: “We know the powerhouse that they are, but we don’t mind playing the French teams.

“Our possession game maybe can push them into a space that they are not used to because they do like a set-piece game and to slow the game up.

“We like to play the way we do, and hopefully that’s a bit of a strength for us down there next week.”

Teenage star Henry Arundell will be hoping to feature in Sunday’s squad after coming off the bench to inspire Irish to a 42-42 home draw with Wasps in the Gallagher Premiership.

He said: “That fact that we’re still in Europe means that we have got something to play for alongside the Prem Cup. Toulon are obviously very stacked with the players that they have.

“They are a great side and it’s away and they have got a great crowd, but we will see what we can do. We will fight to the end of the 80 minutes and hopefully come out of it with a win.”
