England prop Jason Leonard is only two caps shy of a century of Tests after starring in his country's thrilling one-point win over Australia at Twickenham on Saturday.

Leonard, who plays for PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP side NEC Harlequins, is the third-highest capped player of all time, and is closing in on Australian legend David Campese (101) and French centre Phillippe Sella (111). Leonard has also played five Tests for the British and Irish Lions.

Team-mate Ben Cohen, who plays for Heineken Cup side Northampton Saints, continued his amazing try-scoring run, bagging two against the Wallabies to take his career tally to 18 in only 20 Tests, while Jonny Wilkinson took his career points tally to 576 after only 37 Tests.

Across the Channel, New Zealand captain Taine Randell won his 50th cap for the All Blacks. Centre Tana Umaga moved into the top 25 Test try-scorers of all time, scoring his 24th against France to draw level with Scottish record-holders Tony Stanger and Ian Smith and Australian flyer Ben Tune.

New Zealand team-mate Andrew Mehrtens kicked 10 points in his side's 20-20 draw with France to pass the 900-point mark and is now only two points behind Michael Lynagh's 911 - the third-highest tally of all time. And Irishman David Humphreys (Ulster) kicked 22 points against Fiji to hit the 350-point mark, while brilliant captain Brian O'Driscoll (Leinster Lions) scored his 17th Test try to draw level with Brendan Mullin at the top of Ireland's list of Test try-scorers.

In Cardiff, Wales fly-half Stephen Jones (Llanelli) kicked immaculately to score 22 points against Canada and pass the 200-mark in Tests. Team-mate Gareth Llewellyn (Neath) took the field in a Test for the 70th time, although the achievement was marred by a yellow card in the second half.

Finally, against Italy in Rome, veteran Argentinian flanker Rolando Martin scored his 20th try in his 76th Test, joining Italy's Carlo Chechinatto as the highest forward try-scorer in rugby history. Two penalty goals to Italy's Argentinian-born goal-kicker Diego Dominguez (Stade Francais) leaves him only 29 short of the magical 1,000-point mark in Test rugby.
