The first-time finalists – who secured a spot in the showpiece decider with a stunning 32-23 defeat of Leinster Rugby – take on a Toulouse side packed full of European experience who will be chasing a record-breaking fifth European title.

French international Alldritt has had a stellar European campaign to date, scoring tries at both the quarter-final and semi-final stages, earning a EPCR European Player of the Year nomination in the process.

“The [Heineken] Champions Cup is the holy grail,” said the 24-year-old. “It is a title that is difficult to go after. When we are in the final of the European Cup, we are on the verge of lifting the cup.

“But it's also so hard to get in the final. Either we lift the trophy, or we say to ourselves that we have come a long way for nothing.

“It's up to us to do what is necessary to bring something back to La Rochelle.”

La Rochelle flanker Kevin Gourdon added that regardless of Saturday’s result, the match will prove to be a big experience for his side who were playing in the second tier of French rugby a decade ago.

“When I look back on our journey, these are just great memories,” Gourdon said.

“We have been constant during the last few years with a project on continuity. This is how we are able to work so well.

“I'm not going to say that this final is the end game, but it's a very good experience. We have given ourselves the chance to win and we will continue to grow.”
