Pool 1: Tadhg Furlong (Leinster Rugby) The stand-out prop for the last few seasons in Europe, Furlong possesses a skillset which is threatening to change the job specification of a front-row forward. Not only is Furlong a danger across the park in the loose, but his scrummaging is also highly rated. A try-scorer in last season’s Heineken Champions Cup final at St. James’ Park, where Leinster were defeated by Saracens 20-10, the 26-year-old tight-head started all three British and Irish Lions Tests against New Zealand in 2017. Pool 2: Ben Moon (Exeter Chiefs) A born-and-bred Devonian, Moon enjoyed a productive campaign last season, when he made his England debut against South Africa, which Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter felt was well deserved. The loose-head has amassed 43 appearances in European rugby for the West Country club and played in all six pool-stage encounters last season for the Chiefs. On the European scene, the 26-year-old Sinckler played in Harlequins’ 2016 Challenge Cup final defeat to Montpellier in Lyon and has totalled 28 appearances in European rugby. Pool 4: Nicky Smith (Ospreys) A regular in the Ospreys side since 2014/15, Smith enjoyed a solid campaign in 2018/19 and has now featured in over 100 matches for the Welsh region in all competitions. The 25-year-old loose-head made 15 appearances for the Wales U20 side and has already doubled that tally for the senior Wales side. Pool 5: Mikheil Nariashvili (Montpellier) A hard-hitting Georgian, Nariashvili won the Challenge Cup with Montpellier in 2016 and will be hoping for more European success this time around. He has recently signed a new deal to keep him at the Altrad Stadium until 2022 and has already made over 50 appearances for his country.
