Stuart McInally – Edinburgh Rugby (€5.5m) The Edinburgh Rugby hooker has been a model of consistency so far this season, scoring 10 Champions Fantasy Rugby points in both his matches in this season’s competition. Having scored a try against both Toulon and Montpellier, he could be a decent option as the Scottish side take on Pool 5 leaders Newcastle Falcons in their December double-header. Jonny Gray – Glasgow Warriors (€6.5m) With a combined 47 tackles in two Heineken Champions Cup matches, Gray has been excellent for Glasgow Warriors and Champions Fantasy Rugby owners so far this season. Having also notched a try in the away success over Cardiff Blues, the Scotland international’s tally has reached 23 points, better than any other lock in the competition, including RC Toulon’s Romain Taofifenua and Saracens’ Maro Itoje. Expect more tackling points for Gray when Glasgow take on Lyon in Rounds 3 and 4. https://twitter.com/ChampionsCup/status/1055005977974579202 Ruan Pienaar – Montpellier (€8.0m) The Montpellier scrum-half scored 17 Champions Fantasy Rugby points in Round 1 against Edinburgh Rugby and went one better last weekend, netting 18 in the French side’s narrow loss at Newcastle Falcons. In tricky kicking conditions, Pienaar slotted five penalties and also completed eight tackles. If he can sustain this purple patch, the 34-year-old has to come into consideration for Rounds 3 and 4. https://twitter.com/ChampionsCup/status/1054994650879078400 Joey Carbery – Munster Rugby (€8.0m) The 22-year-old fly-half has flourished since making his move from defending champions Leinster Rugby to fellow Irish province Munster Rugby. He has enjoyed a terrific start to the season, helping Munster to the top of Pool 2 and leading his position in Champions Fantasy Rugby with 36 points, four more than his former team-mate, Johnny Sexton. Reasonably priced at €8.0m, Carbery looks a fantastic option with a double-header against TOP 14 champions Castres Olympique on the horizon. Thomas Ramos – Toulouse (€7.0m) The Toulouse full-back has shown nerves of steel in consecutive Heineken Champions Cup matches, landing late penalties and conversions to secure victories over Bath Rugby and 2018 winners Leinster Rugby. His efforts have led to the 23-year-old racking up 29 Champions Fantasy Rugby points and could prove to be an excellent captain’s pick when Wasps travel to Stade Ernest-Wallon in Round 4.
