A total of 10 tries were scored as Wasps took the honours before going on to double European Cup success in 2004 and 2007.

Wasps were much the better side in a thrilling Challenge Cup final, scoring three tries in each half to see off Bath at the Madejski Stadium in Reading.

Wasps' control up front proved pivotal as they notched first-half tries through Josh Lewsey, Fraser Waters and Phil Greening, and they were equally dominant there after the break, with Kenny Logan, Trevor Leota and Martyn Wood crossing. In addition, Alex King kicked 18 points.

Bath did show some battling qualities, though, with Olly Barkley, James Scaysbrook, Mike Tindall and Iain Balshaw all touching down - but they never looked like stopping Wasps securing a first European trophy.

Wasps went on to complete a European-domestic double the following weekend, when they won the English Premiership with a comprehensive 39-3 final victory over Gloucester Rugby at Twickenham.

The Challenge Cup triumph also proved to be a cornerstone for further European success, as they landed the 2004 European Cup with a final victory over Stade Toulousain and the 2007 competition after defeating Leicester Tigers at Twickenham.
