The Heineken Cup crossed a new frontier today - and with it came a challenge to defending champions Munster...

Bourgoin have switched their Round 5 Pool 4 match against the Irish province accross the border to Switzerland at the 30,000 all-seater Stade de Geneve.

And Bourgoin were at the stadium to tour the ground and meet the Swiss media before the match on the weekend of 12/13/14 January, 2007.

"It is fantastic that we will be having an amazing team like Munster coming to Geneva - and hopefully beating them," said Director of Rugby and former international backrow forward Pierre Raschi.

"I've played against Munster twice in 1998 and we know they currently have a top quality side.

"Their prop Fredericio Pucciariello was an extremely popular player when he was with us at Bourgoin and through him there is a strong bond between Munster and ourselves."

The date and kick-off time will be finalised in the week after the Round 3 games and Bourgoin president Pierre Martinet is looking forward to welcoming Munster's army of travelling fans to the 80th venue in a ninth country to stage Heineken Cup action.

"Munster have fantastic supporters and it will be magnificent to have 3000 or more in Geneva," he said.

Among the initiatives to promote the game in the Geneva are an allocation of 3000 tickets for school children and another 1000 ear marked for senior players in the Swiss city.

Bourgoin are not forgetting their own supporters, and season ticket holders will be provided with a free bus service to and from the match.
