Here, we’ve taken a look at all the individual attacking statistics for the 2022/23 EPCR Challenge Cup.

Carries: Jack Dempsey (Glasgow Warriors), 84

Demsey was by far the most regular ball carrier in this season’s competition, amassing at least 17 more than his nearest rivals in the statistic, including a game-high 16 in the final.

Glasgow centre Sione Tuipulotu racked up 67 over the course of the season while Benetton Rugby flanker Sebastian Negri achieved the third-most at 66.

Metres made: Ollie Smith (Glasgow Warriors), 414

Wing Smith was a key threat for Glasgow on their run to a first ever EPCR final and despite seeing his team beaten in Dublin, he caused Toulon some problems as he gained 48 metres across 11 carries.

Connacht Rugby wing Mack Hansen featured just three times in the EPCR Challenge Cup as his team were knocked out in the Round 16, but he gained a staggering 380 metres, eight more than Glasgow wing Kyle Styen, who scored two tries in the final, his sixth game in this season’s competition.

Line breaks: Steff Evans (Scarlets), 12

Scarlets wing Evans was among the leading try scorers this season and is out on his own when it comes to line breaks, underlining his importance to the Welsh region reaching a maiden EPCR Challenge Cup semi-final.

Glasgow captain Steyn racked up nine, the same as Cardiff Rugby back Mason Grady and one more than teammate George Horne.

Defenders beaten: Jack Dempsey (Glasgow Warriors), 31

Dempsey tops another department largely thanks to his impressive semi-final performance against Scarlets when he beat nine defenders, almost a third of his overall tally for the competition.

Smith (30) and Steyn (20 feature again – that duo also headed the statistic in the final, beating four and six respectively.

Offloads: Jiuta Wainiqolo (RC Toulon), 18

Toulon wing Wainiqolo is the first Toulon player to crop up despite the TOP 14 giants marching to a convincing victory in the final in Dublin.

The Fijian scored seven tries in this season’s EPCR Challenge Cup, including one in the final, but his offloading game stood out too as he made at least six more than another player in the competition.

Dempsey appears again after completing two in the final and 12 overall, while Scarlets lock Sam Lousi (11) rounds off the top three.

Back-row forward Jack Dempsey may have seen his Glasgow Warriors well beaten by RC Toulon in the EPCR Challenge Cup final, but he enjoyed a standout campaign and finished as one of the top attacking players.
