Former Ireland and Munster Rugby fly-half O’Gara has guided La Rochelle to the showpiece game of EPCR’s top competition for a third successive season and led them to a maiden EPCR title last year.

Alldritt explained how O’Gara’s elite mindset is shared by his players, enabling them to come into high-pressure games such as today brimming with self-belief.

"He (ROG) is contagious in the way he approaches meetings, in the confidence he gives to the group,” the France international said. “We've been working hard since July to be at this point.

“We are aware of what we produce. Our challenge is not to stop Leinster but to meet our standards to perform.

“We have a lot of humility, but we are sure of our strengths. If we can be at our best, we can be very hard to beat."

Full-back Brice Dulin believes La Rochelle have developed further since beating Leinster in Marseille 12 months ago, and asserted that they have the capability to repeat the feat in Dublin.

"Are we stronger? We have a little more experience at this level,” he said. “This is often necessary to better understand these events.

“The group is different, but it has shown as much strength if not more. There is an important experience.

"We have given ourselves the means to achieve beautiful things. It will not be necessary to overstate.

“Everyone has to bring something to this match. This can be the X-factor that will make the difference to achieve a great match."

Dulin added that the nervous energy has been building among the La Rochelle players as they look to overcome a Leinster side gunning for a record-equalling fifth EPCR crown.

"When you get 24 hours away from a final, there's no need to cause excitement,” he said. “There she is. There's energy, a little stress.

"Leinster have an ability to be consistent in a game. This season, they fed off the lost final. But nothing is impossible. We have the resources to compete with our teams.”
