Ollie Smith’s recall to the Scotland squad means EPCR Challenge Cup contenders Glasgow Warriors will have seven players in the home starting XV to face Italy in their 2023 Six Nations finale on Saturday.

The versatile 22-year-old replaces injured full-back Stuart Hogg at BT Murrayfield for his third cap and will be surrounded by familiar faces, with Kyle Steyn on the right wing, while Huw Jones and Sione Tuipulotu again occupy the centre roles.

In the pack, Scotland’s front row has Glasgow duo George Turner at hooker and Zander Fagerson at tighthead prop for the third consecutive match, while Jack Dempsey retains his place at No.8.

Glasgow host Dragons RFC at the Scotstoun Stadium in the Challenge Cup Round of 16 on April 1 after finishing second in Pool A.
