Leinster Rugby’s Caelan Doris has been selected for the longlist for the EPCR Player of the Year award for the second year in a row following his impressive performances in the Heineken Champions Cup pool stage. 

Doris, who played two games as a No.8 and two as a flanker during Leinster’s first four games of the 2022-23 campaign, is already the recipient of two Heineken Star of the Match awards so far this season; in a win over Gallagher Premiership club Gloucester Rugby at home and an away victory at TOP 14 side Racing 92. 

Across four well rounded performances, the 24-year-old has made 106 metres with the ball, 23 tackles, four offloads and beaten four defenders. The 24-year-old has also scored two tries in the Heineken Champions Cup thus far, crossing home and away against Gloucester.
