Dragons RFC and Glasgow Warriors meet in the United Rugby Championship (URC) on Saturday in what is a teaser of their EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 encounter in just over two months’ time.

While Dragons host the domestic contest, it will be Glasgow who are at home in the EPCR Challenge Cup after they drew 19-19 with Bath Rugby last Friday to go undefeated in Pool A and secure a second-place finish.

Dragons, who were defeated 30-25 by Emirates Lions last Sunday to see home advantage slip through their grasp, hand hooker Brodie Coghlan his first senior start while Rhodri Jones returns at prop.

Glasgow have been boosted by six players who have been released from the Scotland squad, with one of that contingent, Stafford McDowall, captaining the side from centre in Newport.

Cardiff Rugby, Connacht Rugby, Emirates Lions and Benetton Rugby are other EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 sides in URC action on Saturday.

Scrum-half Lloyd Williams makes his record-equalling 225th appearances for Cardiff, who lost 37-24 at CA Brive last Saturday, as they visit Heineken Champions Cup heavyweights Leinster Rugby.

Jack Carty is back at fly-half to captain Connacht, who were beaten 35-21 at Newcastle Falcons last Saturday, as they host Emirates Lions.

Fly-half Jordan Hendriske, the second-highest points-scorer in this season’s EPCR Challenge Cup, starts for Emirates Lions, who booked a home Round of 16 tie against Racing 92 with their win over Dragons.

Benetton, who will welcome Connacht in the EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 after edging Stade Français Paris 35-32 last Saturday, are at home to Munster Rugby.

In the Gallagher Premiership, Northampton Saints and Bristol Bears visit Heineken Champions Cup teams in Leicester Tigers and Bristol Bears respectively.

George Furbank is captain and fly-half for Northampton, who drop into the EPCR Challenge Cup from the Heineken Champions Cup, while Pool A qualifiers Bristol have captain Steven Luatua back at flanker while fit-again wing Gabriel Ibitoye also starts.

Several EPCR Challenge Cup teams are involved in TOP 14 games on Saturday – Heineken Champions Cup drop-outs Lyon and ASM Clermont Auvergne go head-to-head while Racing host Stade Rochelais, Brive visit Aviron Bayonnais, Stade Français head to USAP and RC Toulon welcome Section Paloise.
