Harlequins head coach Tabai Matson couldn’t be more excited about facing Cell C Sharks in Round 4 of the Heineken Champions Cup on Saturday as the Gallagher Premiership club bid to qualify for the knockout stages.

Although he knows the visitors are likely to bring what he described as a “stacked” squad, he is anticipating a partisan crowd at Twickenham Stoop to cheer on his side, who lie just inside the eight Pool A qualification places in seventh.

“We want to play with tempo; we want to move them around the field,” Matson said, adding that he wants Quins to build on what they achieved in a 30-29 loss at Racing 92 in Round 3, in which they scored three tries plus a penalty try. “There’s lots to move forward with.”

Having won their other Pool A game at Twickenham Stoop last month, 14-10 against Racing, Matson is hopeful that the home faithful will have even more to cheer this time round.

“I’m excited – always excited with a sold-out Stoop,” he commented. “If we get a win there, we’re definitely in the hunt for Europe, which is a key goal for us.”
