Fit again lock George Nott is the headline name as Dragons make five changes to the side that lost 27-21 to Section Paloise in EPCR Challenge Cup Pool B for a Boxing Day test against Cardiff Rugby.
Nott makes his first appearance since October, joining Joe Davies in the second row. Ross Moriarty is another new name at blindside flanker.
JJ Hanrahan comes into the starting line up at fly-half, with full-back Angus O’Brien and centre Steff Hughes the remaining changes to the side.
Thomas Young and Lopeti Timani return to the Cardiff Rugby lineup for the derby match. Cardiff enjoyed a fruitful round two to the EPCR Challenge Cup winning 47-10 against Newcastle Falcons.
Young returns in the back row alongside Josh Turnbull and Taulupe Faletau. Timani joins Rory Thornton in the second row behind a front three of Rhys Carré, Liam Belcher and Dmitri Arhip. Ben Thomas comes in at inside centre, with Josh Adams moved to full-back.

Meanwhile, Scarlets, who sit at the top of Pool B with two wins from two, welcome back captain Jonathan Davies at inside centre for their United Rugby Championship game against Ospreys.
He is the lone change in a XV that won 45-26 away at Toyota Cheetahs in round two of the EPCR Challenge Cup last weekend.
