Leicester flanker Tommy Reffell featured seven times in last season's Heineken Champions Cup
Flanker Tommy Reffell scored two tries as Leicester Tigers won 27-19 at fellow Heineken Champions Cup contenders Harlequins in the Gallagher Premiership on Sunday.
Leicester, who open their Heineken Champions Cup Pool B campaign at Ospreys on December 11, had come into the game off the back of two straight defeats.
But the visitors were in control at half-time, as Reffell and Julian Montoya crashed over from close range in the first period, with Quins, who travel to Cell C Sharks in Heineken Champions Cup Pool A on December 10, failing to register any points before the break.

Reffell then finished superbly to extend Tigers’ advantage on the restart and although Cadan Murley’s try got Quins up and running, a Billy Burns penalty and an Anthony Watson score put Tigers almost out of sight with five minutes to go.
Murley crossed again shortly afterwards and Danny Care added another try in the final play to reduce the deficit for Quins, but they were unable to prevent Leicester’s third win of the season.
In the TOP 14 on Sunday, last season’s Heineken Champions Cup winners, Stade Rochelais, cruised to a 32-5 home win over RC Toulon, with UJ Seuteni, Pierre Bourgarit, Teddy Thomas and Quentin Lespiaucq-Brettes all notching tries, and Jules Favre kicking 10 points.
