Flanker Miles Reid is set to captain Bath Rugby for the first time when they visit fellow EPCR Challenge Cup side Newcastle Falcons in the Gallagher Premiership on Saturday.

Bath, who drop into the EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 following their demotion from the Heineken Champions Cup, have brought in the 23-year-old after he recovered from an injury sustained in November.

Locks Mike Williams and Ewan Richards also return to the side after getting back to full fitness, while flanker Josh Bayliss and centre Max Clark are recalled too.

Newcastle, who will be aiming to join Bath in the EPCR Challenge Cup last 16 when they host Zebre Parma in Round 5 in April, have made three changes to the side that was narrowly beaten by Exeter Chiefs last weekend.

Adam Radwan returns from the England camp to start on the wing, while Gary Graham and Mark Tampin are brought in at No.8 and prop respectively.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Gloucester Rugby, a side who have already sealed qualification for the EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 through Pool B, travel to Leicester Tigers.

Tom Seabrook and Mark Atkinson join up in a fresh midfield pairing, Adam Hastings and Charlie Chapman form a new-look half-back partnership and Val Rapava-Ruskin comes in at prop.

Benetton Rugby are the solitary EPCR Challenge Cup side in action in the United Rugby Championship on Saturday – the Italian outfit welcome Sharks.

In the TOP 14, there are two all-EPCR Challenge Cup encounters, with CA Brive entertaining RC Toulon and Lyon hosting Biarritz Olympique.

Meanwhile, USAP travel to ASM Clermont Auvergne, Castres Olympique visit Racing 92 and Section Paloise face Stade Rochelais at home.

On Sunday, Northampton Saints, another team entering the EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 following relegation from the Heineken Champions Cup, go up against Exeter Chiefs at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.
