Heineken Champions Cup side Racing 92 have signed prop Trevor Nyakane, a World Cup winner with South Africa in 2019.

The 32-year-old joins from South African side Bulls and could play a part in Racing’s Pool A campaign, which sees them play home and away against Northampton Saints and Ospreys.

“It was in this position that we decided to strengthen ourselves,” Racing director of rugby Laurent Travers told L’Equipe.

“Trevor interested us because he has both the experience of the scrum and the experience of the very high level, with two World Cups played.

“We wanted someone who could help the team as well as transmit his knowledge, his maturity, his confidence.”
