Frankie Sheahan and Federico Pucciariello have extended their contracts with Munster in deals that will see them remain awith the Heineken Cup Champions until the end of the 2009 season.

Munster hooker Sheahan won his 50th Heineken Cup Cap this season when he lined out against Bourgoin in Geneva, marking the occasion by scoring his ninth try in the Heineken Cup.

Sheahan reacted to the news of his contract: “Given where I was even this time last year, struggling to get over injury, I am delighted I was in a position to be looking at extending my contract.”

“Now that that’s done I can concentrate on my rugby and look forward to what’s ahead of us.”

Pucciariello, 31, is delighted to extend his contract with the Heineken Cup title holders: “For me, Munster is the best club of my career. I am very happy here and so is my wife and son.”

Having played with Narbonne, Gloucester and Bourgoin it looks like the Italian player has settled with the Irish province.

“So, no, it wasn’t difficult to decide to stay. Very easy in fact. This is a great team. There are so many great players here, I am delighted to stay.”
