Leinster coach Micheal Cheika has warned his side’s Heineken Cup rivals to count the Dubliners out of the race for the title at their peril…

“We are down but we are definitely not out,” was Cheika’s rallying call after his side’s 19-13 defeat at Gloucester.

“I told the playes before the game that if we didn’t get something out of this match we wouldn’t win the Heineken Cup.

“It was always going to be a difficult game at Kingsholm and Gloucester played well.

“I think we need to look to our finishing again. Things didn’t go our way with 20 minutes to go.

“But we will do everything we can 24/7 to put things right.”

Gloucester coach Dean Ryan was delighted as his side’s revenge victory.

“We were desperate for credibility in the tournament. What we have learned in six games is that we can stand toe to toe with one of the tournament favourites,” said Ryan.
