Scarlets, who host the Scottish region on April 29, have chosen a team showing 11 changes from the one who sealed their slot in the last four of EPCR Challenge Cup last weekend, while Glasgow’s starting XV displays 10 alterations.

With Leigh Halfpenny going through return-to-play protocols, Tom Rogers returns at full-back for the Welsh region and there is a new midfield pairing of Ioan Nicholas and 20-year-old Eddie James, who makes his first URC start. At half-back, fly-half Dan Jones and scrum-half Kieran Hardy are recalled.

In the pack, there is a new front row comprising loose-head Wyn Jones, hooker Shaun Evans and tight-head Sam Wainwright, Morgan Jones returns in the second row and in the back row, flanker Iwan Shenton is handed a URC debut alongside No. 8 Carwyn Tuipulotu, who replaces the injured Sione Kalamafoni.

For Glasgow, Johnny Matthews is the only change to the front row. The hooker became the ninth player to score five tries or more in an EPCR Challenge Cup match in this season’s Round of 16 thrashing of Dragons RFC earlier this month.

However, there is an all-new second-row pairing of Lewis Bean and JP du Preez, while the back row sees flanker Ryan Wilson and No.8 Sione Vailanu return, the latter after injury.

In the backs, scrum-half Ali Price and fly-half Tom Jordan are recalled – as are centres Sam Johnson and Stafford McDowall and left wing Cole Forbes, while Huw Jones shifts to full-back to accommodate McDowall.

Meanwhile, Benetton Rugby, the first Italian team to reach the EPCR Challenge Cup semi-finals, have made only four changes for their URC game at Cell C Sharks, who bowed out of the Heineken Champions Cup last weekend.

Centre Joaquin Riera, fly-half Tomas Albornoz, prop Nahuel Tetaz and No.8 Lorenzo Cannone are given the chance to bid for a place in their last-four tie at RC Toulon on April 30.

Scarlets and Glasgow Warriors look to be giving little away ahead of their all-British EPCR Challenge Cup semi-final clash later this month when they meet in the BKT United Rugby Championship (URC) at Scotstoun Stadium on Friday night.
