With their Heineken Champions Cup Round of 16 tie at Cell C Sharks a month away, Munster Rugby have received a big boost with the news that World Cup winner RG Snyman is in line for his first appearance at Musgrave Park in Friday’s sold-out United Rugby Championship game against Scarlets.

The giant South African international lock, who has been sidelined since October 2021 with a serious knee injury, is among the replacements after battling back to full fitness.

Munster show three personnel changes and one positional switch from the side who beat Ospreys two weeks ago.

Hooker Diarmuid Barron starts on his 50th Munster appearance as full-back Patrick Campbell and right wing Calvin Nash also come into the side, while Shane Daly moves to the left wing, having started the Ospreys victory at full-back.
