Red card – Fraser Dingwall (Northampton Saints)

The Northampton Saints centre, Fraser Dingwall (No 13), was issued with a red card during his club’s Heineken Champions Cup, Round 4 match against Stade Rochelais at the cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday, 21 January 2023.

Dingwall was sent off by the referee, Andrea Piardi (Italy), in the 39th minute of the match for tackling the Stade Rochelais wing, Dillyn Leyds (No 14), in a dangerous manner in contravention of Law 9.13

Declan Goodwin (Wales), Chair, Nigel Williams (Wales) and Tembelani Hebert Mayosi (South Africa) have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place by video conference tomorrow (Tuesday, 24 January).

Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.13 relating to dangerous tackling carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 2 weeks; Mid-range: 6 weeks; Top end: 10 to 52 weeks.

Red card – Lukhan Salakaia-Loto (Northampton Saints)

The Northampton Saints second row, Lukhan Salakaia-Loto (No 4), was issued with a red card during his club’s Heineken Champions Cup, Round 4 match against Stade Rochelais at the cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday, 21 January 2023.

Salakaia-Loto was sent off by the referee, Andrea Piardi (Italy), in the 81st minute of the match for striking the Stade Rochelais replacement back row, Paul Boudehent (No 21), in a dangerous manner in contravention of Law 9.11

Kathrine Mackie (Scotland), Chair, Tony Wheat (Ireland) and Marcello d’Orey (Portugal) have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place by video conference tomorrow (Tuesday, 24 January).

Red card – Feibyan-Cornell Tukino (Castres Olympique)

The Castres Olympique No 8, Feibyan-Cornell Tukino, was issued with a red card during his club’s Heineken Champions Cup, Round 4 match against Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park on Saturday, 21 January 2023.

Tukino was sent off by the referee, Andrew Brace (Ireland), after 37 minutes of the match for tackling the Exeter Chiefs prop, James Kenny (No 1), in a dangerous manner in contravention of Law 9.13

Sam Hillas KC (England), Chair, Frank Hadden (Scotland) and a third member to be confirmed have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place by video conference tomorrow (Tuesday, 24 January)

EPCR CHALLENGE CUP

Citing complaint – Piers Francis (Bath Rugby)

EPCR has received a citing complaint against the Bath Rugby outside half, Piers Francis (No 10), arising from his club’s EPCR Challenge Cup, Round 4 match against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun on Friday, 20 January 2023.

Francis is alleged to have tackled the Glasgow Warriors centre, Sione Tuipulotu (No 13), in a dangerous manner in the 42nd minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.13.

The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Gabriele Pezzano (Italy).

Jean-Noel Couraud (France), Chair, Donal Courtney (Ireland) and Val Toma (Romania) have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place by video conference tomorrow (Tuesday, 24 January).
